“The Conservation & Wildlife Management Branch emerged in the early 1990s in response to one of the most serious environmental issues in South Australia's northern national parks. Feral goats had over-run these regions, and damage was massive....”

"The Conservation & Wildlife Management Branch assisted greatly in the Flinders Ranges National Park achieving a fox-free status leading to a spectacular recovery in the Yellow-footed Rock-wallaby population. Branch members also regularly assist in kangaroo and other wildlife surveys and have also been involved in major feral animal control programs such as the PestCam project in the Murraylands Region and the Narrung Peninsula program on the Coorong.”

“The Conservation & Wildlife Management Branch Branch has proven to be one of the hardest working and committed friends groups. At the 2001 Friends of Parks Forum at Ceduna, the branch was awarded the Nature Foundation SA Award for the Best Wildlife Conservation Project.

Similarly, a Branch member was among the South Australian contingent that recently received a Banksia Award for Flinders Ranges Bounceback from the Commonwealth Minister for the Environment, Senator Robert Hill, in Canberra.”

We will be adding pages with specific information about our achievements in many of the different major projects in National Parks with the Department of Environment and Heritage, and in smaller projects with private landholders. We look forward to continuing our involvement with these projects and in many more up coming projects. Please check back over the next few months to find out more about our achievements. We have also been presented with a number of State and National awards, which recognise our long standing commitment to our environment and the thousands of hours that we (as a group) have spent in the cause of conservation.
